Directions:
The lights can be seen at a distance from the bridge to St. Joseph Island (Highway 548). Cars can park at the north end of the bridge. To see the lights by land, from Highway 17 take Range Lights Road, a mile or two east of the intersection with Highway 548. This road gets pretty rough and narrow, making it difficult to turn. If you ask politely, property owners may allow you to park in their driveway and walk the rest of the way to the lights. The front light is fairly easy to get to, but the rear light is surrounded by thick vegetation. (Thanks to Michel Forand for this information.) The range lights can also be seen from tours offered by Mackinac Seaplane Tours in Michigan -- see www.mackinacseaplanes.com or call 906-632-9746.
