This lighthouse station originally looked very similar to Windmill Point Light on the Vermont side of Lake Champlain. In 1910-1912, the lighthouse was converted into a neoclassical memorial to explorer Samuel de Champlain. It remained in use as a lighthouse until 1929. The memorial incorporates the bottom section of the original lighthouse.

Directions:
The tower is located within the Crown Point State Historic Site at the Lake Champlain Bridge, four miles east of Rte. 9N and 22. Crown Point State Historic Site is open mid-May through October, Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday, 1-5 p.m. The site is also open Independence Day and Labor Day. Other days in the year, it is open by appointment. The grounds are open year round.
