Just three years after it was built, this lighthouse was replaced by the new Yaquina Head Lighthouse. This lighthouse is thought to be the oldest structure in Newport, Oregon. It is the only existing Oregon lighthouse with the living quarters attached, and the only wooden Oregon lighthouse still standing.

The lighthouse is open to the public every day except Christmas, New Years Day and Thanksgiving. From Memorial Day weekend through the end of September the hours are 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from October to Memorial Day, the hours are 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. The lantern room is not open to the public. To arrange a group tour, call 541-265-3286.

Directions:
The lighthouse is accessible via paved trails and a walkway that lead to the top of the hill within the Yaquina Bay State Park at the north end of the Yaquina Bay Bridge. Access-compromised visitor groups are encouraged to use the large parking lot at the back of the lighthouse (entrance at SW Government and 9th Streets).
