How do you thank a lighthouse
For the work she's always done?
And how you feel about her,
Your emotions, how they run?
Can you say I love you
And none can take your place?
Then watch her light still shining
Thru tears upon your face.
She's just a man's creation
Of steel and wood and stone.
Her heart is called the keeper
Whose family calls it home.
The sailors love her dearly
For it's them she's made to be
And tell them where they're sailing
On the ever changing sea.
