Ken Black and Dorothy Wyman on their first dance ...

Ken Black, known in New England, and most of American lighthouse circles, as "Mr. Lighthouse," exchanged wedding vows with Dorothy Wyman of Union, Maine.

The beautiful ceremony took place in an open air chapel at the Samoset Resort in Rockland, Maine, on a hill overlooking the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse, with Owls Head Light and Browns Head Light clearly visible across the bay.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the couple was ferried across the bay in a cabin cruiser to the Landings Restaurant, where the reception was held. Upon arriving at the dock, they got into a waiting golf cart, which was painted with "Just Married" signs and had tin cans hanging from the back it. They then drove along the dock to the nearby restaurant.

The ceremony and reception was attended by about 150 close friends and relatives.

Ken Black, 75, is the founder, curator and director of the Shore Village Museum in Rockland, Maine, which has the largest collection of lighthouse lenses and artifacts of any museum in the United States.

Instead of having just a "Mr. Lighthouse," we now have a -"Mr. & Mrs. Lighthouse." They are truly a couple of the nicest people we know, and we wish them only the very best.

If you would like to congratulate Ken and Dorothy, you can write to them in care of the Shore Village Museum, 104 Limerock Street, Rockland, Maine 04841.
