I have a historical or professional interest in lighthouses.

I am married and have 5 children, 3 are currently living at home, and I have 3 grandchildren. I was born in the astrological sign of Cancer, which is a water sign, and adds passion to my interest in lighthouses. My great-grandfather Olaf Ludwig Hansen was a keeper at Heceta, Or and North Cove, WA and my great uncle, Howard Hansen, was a keeper at North Head, WA and Tillamook, OR. I have just recently started my search for documentation/verification on their history. I do believe that even without my personal ancestory, lighthouses would have a special place in my heart. I am looking forward to helping aid their preservation and communicating with other lighthouse lovers. It is my understanding that the 1st International Lighthouse day is this year, 2002, August 18, according to the Association of Lighthouse Keepers, England. Love of lighthouses to all, Sheryl
