I became fascinated with lighthouses after visiting one I had heard about all my life, Marblehead Light in Marblehead,Ohio. Since we live on the east coast, my husband and I frequently took vacations in areas where there were lighthouses. Needless to say, it became "our thing". Our enthusiasm grew when our five year old grandson, when he was only two, climbed the 199 steps of the Cape May Point Lighthouse on his own little feet. He's been hooked ever since, and has turned on his eight year old friend and her mother! I guess you could say it's become a neighborhood thing.
