My favorite lighthouse is Barnegat Light in NJ. It is the first lighthouse I visited, and I grew up spending many summer vacations on Long Beach Island.

I am a native New Jersian, and have a lighthouse fanatic. I am a member of various societies (ALF,USLHS, NJLHS, OBLHS to name a few). I wish I had more time to work on lighthouse preservation projects. I collect all sorts of lighthouse items, including patches, magnets, postcards, and books. My pride and joy is my Lefton Historic American Lighthouse collection. Most of my vacations these days focus on visiting lighthouses. I'm inspired by the Shanklins, but I doubt I'll get to see every U.S. lighthouse, but I'm trying. Maybe we'll meet during our travels! Keep the light shining! I can reached at petersw@monmouth.com
