LIGHTHOUSE INTERESTS I followed the move of Cape Hatteras on the internet and was honored to attend the re-lighting ceremony. I have compiled a notebook of it's history through the move and hope to return soon to climb to it's top.

I am a landlocked lover of lighthouses. I developed my love of the lights in 1986 when my son Chris became seriously ill. Chris was the light of my life though I had two other sons. Chris was my first. His illness kept me from being able to pursue my interest in the lights until the Lord took him in April of 1993 at the age of 15. After going through a divorce and then being united for life with my soulmate Patty my interest in the lights was rekindled. The first lighthouse I got to visit was quite by chance. It was the Mark Twain Memorial Lighthouse near Hanibal Mo. along the Mississippi River. Since then I have logged about 25,000 miles visiting 20 states and Canada to find, tour and photograph lighthouses. My favorite lighthouse to date is Split Rock in Minn. and my most intersting experience has been attending the re-lighting of Cape Hatteras.
