I first became interested lighthouses after seeing several paintings by Thomas Kinkade. Then I did a report on lighthouses for a study group I belong too. It was absolutely the most fascinating report I've ever done. Then I started looking at books and came to really see the beauty of lighthouses. So now, I'm a full fledged lighthouse lover. I have a wonderful collection from the Danbury Mint and the Lefton Mini light houses. Our vacation was to North Carolina this summer and even though I'm afraid of heights, I managed to climb to the top of Currituck and Cape Hatteras. It was a wonderful experience as I plastered myself against the back wall with my children daring me to look down over the railings. I hope to visit more lighthouses on our vacations.
