I am a Chaplain in Contra Costa County jails with the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department (County seat -- Martinez, California) and have used the lighthouse for years as a symbol for inmates of the guiding light of a higher power. It has meaning for the inmates and has subsequently increased my interest in learning about and visiting as many lighthouses as I can. I collect replicas when I can, but to my wife's dismay. I'm running out of room to display them.
